A second major award for teaching and learning on the internet has been granted to Essex County Council.
The Essex Grid for Learning, web address below, was launched last year for pupils, teachers and parents.
In March it won the MirandaNet award as the best internet site of the month for trainers and educators in a University of London competition.
The website has now scooped a National Public Involvement Award from the Institute for Public Policy research and the Guardian newspaper.
The award was for development of a responsive and user-led website for pupils, teachers and learners.
Iris Pummell, cabinet member for children's services and schools, said: "There can be no doubt that Essex education is at the forefront of new and exciting developments on the internet."
