Freemasons who meet at Tollesbury have donated equipment worth more than £4,250 to the village's doctors' surgery, as a millennium gift.
At a recent reception at the Tollesbury Masonic Hall, the chairman of Maldon District Council, Penny Channer, handed over the defribillator and an ECG machine to the Bozman and Furze Doctor's Surgery based in the village.
Richard Carter, who co-ordinated the event, said he was extremely pleased with the response to this special appeal which was intended to mark the millennium, and it provided a tangible example of the charitable disposition of all Freemasons who meet at Tollesbury and their desire to serve the community.
