A series of street collections saw fundraisers generate nearly £4,000 for St Clare's Hospice at Hastingwood.
Shoppers in Ongar, Great Dunmow, Safron Walden and other towns gave generously throughout December.
Their contributions will help the hospice serve people from West Essex with life-threatening illnesses, through counselling, in-patient care and equipment loans.
