Children on the Sunshine children's ward at St John's Hospital received an extra sack of Christmas gifts on Christmas day thanks to Essex Police and local businesses.
Sgt Terry Slater, of Chelmsford traffic, delivered the goodies on Christmas Eve on behalf of shops in the area, which donated the toys, sweets and books, in time for them to be handed out on Christmas morning.
In addition PC Ian Lander, and PC Andy Fitch, both from Chelmsford traffic, donated a pool table for the teenager's room and a play station and games.
