Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery which took place in New Writtle Street, Chelmsford.
Three men, all aged between 19 and 20, and all wearing three-quarter length black coats, were seen gathered around another man who was on the floor outside the Chelmer bicycle shop at 12.45am yesterday.
A male passerby intervened while the victim was on the floor and the men made off, but it is not known what they stole.
