Great Wakering Rovers certainly did not suffer any real setback to their Ryman League Second Division hopes when their home clash with Romford was postponed due to a frostbound pitch on Boxing Day.
For all three clubs above them failed to collect three points. Leaders East Thurrock lost for the second time in three matches when slumping 2-0 at Tilbury, while Lewes and Horsham had the best possible result for Alan Hull's Wakering men when they shared the spoils.
It leaves village side Wakering six points behind top dogs Rocks, but Rovers have two matches in hand.
On recent form you would have to fancy Wakering to again emerge with three points tomorrow when Barton Rovers are the visitors.
The Bedfordshire side are currently 15th in the table with 27 points from 20 games. They have won seven and lost seven matches and have scored 31 goals while conceding the same number.
The goals for record is not much different from Rovers. They have scored 33, but, of course, Wakering boast the best defensive record in the whole League -- having let in just 13 goals in their 21 games.
