An animal lover who had close associations with the countryside has died.
Maureen Partridge, of High Garrett, was 59.
Life-long friend Janet Ainsworth paid tribute to Mrs Partridge, who she said had a great sense of humour and will be greatly missed.
Mrs Partridge, of Sunnyfields Road, died on October 27 from heart-related problems and Mrs Ainsworth said she put up a courageous fight in the last few months of her life.
Mrs Partridge spent her whole life in High Garrett and went to Gosfield Primary School and the Margaret Tabor School, Braintree.
She worked at Courtaulds textile factory in Bocking, and at Foley House, a home for the deaf and dumb, in High Garrett.
Married for 34 years to Gary, a contract worker to farmers, Mrs Partridge helped with his business paperwork and went with him to Greenstead Green Agricultural Society meetings, near Halstead.
