Defiant europhile Ted Preedy hopes to convince people that the single currency would be good for Britain - by selling his car in euros.
Fistful of euros - Ted wants 5,000 of them for his G-reg Toyota. Picture: ROBIN WOOSEY 6ADNH28
Ted, who works at Rayleigh Instruments, on the Brook Road Estate and lives in Station Road, Leigh, says he is fed up with euro-sceptics.
However, he is not entirely sure how many prospective buyers will be attracted by the 5,000-euro price tag - just over £3,000 - on his G-reg Toyota Supra.
Ted said: "The euro is affecting us all, but everyone is being very negative. I am just trying to check the balance the other way.
"I'm not sure how people would pay - maybe by cheque - but I'm sure the banks will accept it, whatever it is."
