A 100-year-old woman has died.
Agnes Smith, who lived at the Kilkee Lodge residential home in Coggeshall Road, Braintree, died peacefully on November 7.
Mrs Smith, who is the widow of Albert, came from a large family of four sisters and three brothers. Although she had no children of her own she leaves a niece.
Mrs Smith celebrated her 100th birthday earlier this year and was Kilkee Lodge's first centenarian.
Marlene Skelton, administrator of Kilkee Lodge, said: "She was a lively person for someone of her age and she kept well right up to the end.
"Aggie was well loved by everyone at Kilkee Lodge and she had a wonderful sense of humour. When we had singalongs she loved singing and knew all of the words."
