The managing director of a Frinton motor firm Max Vinnell has died. He was 58.
Mr Vinnell, of Halstead Road, Kirby Cross, died at his home. He had been with Pollendine Motors in Connaught Avenue, Frinton, for more than 30 years.
He was one of seven children and grew up in Jaywick. Before joining Pollendines he worked as an apprentice motor mechanic with Farrow's garage at Thorrington.
He was also a former Frinton and Walton Round Tabler and member of the 41 Club. He was a keen windsurfer and pioneered the sport in the area. He also enjoyed motor sport, mountain biking and classic cars.
A devoted family man, Mr Vinnell leaves a widow, Josephine, four children, Carl Samantha, Lance and Lucy and two grandchildren, Luell and Clover.
