A delegation of top Russian scientists, psychiatrists and paediatricians visited Runwell Hospital last week to look at innovations in maternal mental Health.
The five delegates want to develop services in their home country to the same high level as services at Runwell Hospital, which is run by South Essex mental Health and Community Care NHS Trust.
An insight into Runwell's work was given to the visitors by staff at the hospital.
Patrick Geoghegan, the trust's chief executive said, "We are delighted to have welcomed our distinguished colleagues from Russia and sincerely hope that we have been able to assist them in their endeavours to develop their services for maternal mental health.
"The importance of this visit cannot be underestimated as such links can only be a benefit to everyone involved."
