DVD users are being encouraged to borrow a DVD from their local libraries for £2.50 a week.
Essex Libraries have a collection of over 900 titles to choose from ranging from the latest releases to golden oldies.
Chelmsford, Braintree, Witham and Maldon Libraries all have DVD collections available on their shelves.
Councillor Chris Manning-Press, Cabinet Member for Libraries and Leisure, said: "DVDs were introduced to Essex Libraries about three years ago and prove to be very popular with over 29,000 borrowed in 2001.
"DVDs are but a small part of the wide and wonderful service Essex Libraries has to offer for everyone in Essex."
