Top hair stylists and beauty therapists of the future competed in at the annual Thurrock and Basildon College Hair and Beauty Competition recently.
Students from the college's Woodview campus in Grays showed why they are at the cutting edge with innovative designs.
Media make-up students used their talents to the full in the Total Look contest, which was themed around films and produced spectacular results as the section involves full make-up, body paint and costumes.
The Cover Girl contest allowed Hair and Beauty Therapy students to show off their professional make-up and styling skills as they prepared their models for a fashion photography shoot in either 'daytime' or 'evening' categories.
Beauty Therapy Students went head to head in the 'Beauty Therapy Make-up Parade', themed around the 60s, 70s and 80s.
The 'Hair Parade' saw Hairdressing students styling in three categories - Commercial Day, Ladies Evening and Freestyle.
A college spokesperson said: "This competition is a traditional high point in the college calendar and shows the high standards our students are capable of."
