Forrester Park Golf Club Veterans played the January Medal competition as a stableford, with winter league partners Bill Easton and Max Bonner taking the honours, in their respective divisions, with excellent scores in the frosty conditions.

Bill won the gold division with 36 points, comfortably beating Ken Gibson and Peter Cartwright, who took second and third with 33 points.

Max ran away with the silver division, scoring 40 points and had a comfortable margin over Patrick Smith, who beat Ed Bose on countback with 35 points, for second place.

The ladies played the fourth round of their winter league, a 12-hole stableford.

Tony Aldous continued her rich vein of form to win comfortably with 29 points. Maggie Coggans with 22 points edged out Josie Stevens by one point for second place.

At Regiment Way Golf Centre both ladies and gentlemen have played their January Monthly Medal competitions this last weekend.

Two Gregs have featured in the men's results, the winner being Greg Potts who scored a gross 87 and a net 60 off his 27 handicap.

The other Greg, Greg Hodges was second with a gross 74, handicap 12, net 62.

Third place was taken by Mike Simmonds with a gross 81, handicap 17, net 64. This was on countback from both Steve Whatson and Jim Bailey.

The small field of ladies was led in by Karen Riches with her gross 92, handicap 27 and net 65. Susan Potts won the 40 to 45 section.
