Police are hunting for a man who tried to lure a 12-year-old girl away.
The girl was walking up Green Hill, between Chadwell Hill and Thames Drive in Chadwell St Mary, when she was approached by the man. He asked her to go with him and the girl ran home and told her parents.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. The man is described as white, aged 30 to 35 with brown curly hair.
He had a hoop earring in his right ear, a spotty or freckled complexion and a scar on his left hand between the thumb and forefinger. He had a deep voice and wore blue or black jeans.
