Braintree BMX Club was amazed to have provided 21 of the 48 competitors at Norwich on Sunday for Round Five of the Winter series with no fewer than nine of their riders taking wins during the afternoon.

In the youngest Formula 5, it was Coggeshall's Ryan Stockwell who took wins in the first two races from newcomer Dale Gladwin.

But the positions were reversed in the next two events as the Colchester youngster found the extra power and was thrilled with his first ever race wins.

Zach Stevens joined the last race to take fourth place.

Matt Humphrey looked good in the Formula 4 first group taking all three heat wins with his younger brother James having a couple of seconds and a win in the other group.

Meeting up in the superb A final, James made certain of victory with Matt close behind him in second and Jason Laudrum took seventh after a crash on the last bend.

In the B final, Mikey Stevens was leading until the second to last berm when he ran out of track and crashed, his friend Reagan Smith taking second place.

In the very fast Formula 3 races, Bradley Watts was riding magnificently to take three wins including the final from Danny Bateman who raced extremely well to finish in third just ahead of Katie Roberts.

There was an excellent heat win for Jamie Arkle in the Formula 2 races but in their final, he had to be content with fourth place after a tremendous ride by Martin Simmons who finished in a well earned second with Matthew Sewell in fifth.

With the Club providing seven riders in the Formula 1 class, there were some outstanding performances especially from Steven Sewell, 11, riding up two groups and winning the first of his heats.

Also taking a fantastic heat win was 13-year-old Jonathan Roberts with both the youngsters riding with sheer determination against must older riders.

In the B final, Alex Humphrey made up for a disappointing day by winning his race with Toby Cherrill, an unlucky faller taking fourth whilst Darren Eastall missed out on his final due to injury.

In the exciting last race of the day A final, Ryan Everitt rode to a superb second place with Jason Barnard taking an impressive fourth place just ahead of Steven Sewell in a creditable fifth and Jonathan Roberts in seventh.
