A former supermarket is to be knocked down and apartments built in its place.
Plans to demolish the former Co-op store and two houses in Cressing Road, Braintree, were given the thumbs-up at a meeting of Braintree Council's area committee last night.
Members also gave permission for developers to build 15 one and two-bedroomed apartments on the site.
The Co-op recently moved to a new site also in Cressing Road.
