The pike fishing continues to be productive at Rochford's Doggetts Lake with the back pool producing good jacks.
But the bigger fish proved they did not want to be landed and the biggest pike was 15lb, falling to ledgered herring from the north bank.
Skimmers, roach and rudd are still providing sport for the float fishermen.
Southend Steve Waghorn fished a night session on the south bank, where he ledgered paste baits by the reeds.
A carp proved elusive but he caught three bream of 4, 6 and 7lb plus four tench to 4lb. Hockley's Neil Freeman, 10, caught a 20lb mirror on the north bank.
