A Braintree shopping centre could be put up for sale less than a year after a property company was ordered to pay £14m for it in a High Court case.
Dawnay Day Properties paid £13.8m for George Yard, after a high court battle with previous owners P&O Holdings last year.
And now the company is considering selling the centre as part of a group of other centres it owns across the country.
A spokesman for property agent Donaldson's, which is acting as agent for Dawnay Day, said: "The landlords are considering the sale of a number of centres across the UK and George Yard is one of the sites that is being considered."
He added: "The centres were bought as part of a portfolio of centres two years ago and it has always been the intention to review the situation after a couple of years."
The spokesman said the move was a business decision and nothing to do with the performance of the centres.
