The hunt is on for a woman who put naked photos of a friend on the internet to get him to propose.
Stephen McPherson, 24, of Grosvenor Road, Orsett, is desperate to trace the friend who he claims he has never had a relationship with - let alone considered marrying.
The civil servant is eager to find out why Sarah Jay, 23, went through with the Valentine's Day prank.
Miss Jay, also a civil servant, put the photograph on the web and begged other users to persuade him to propose.
Mr McPherson insisted the pair had only ever been friends and the picture was taken at a drunken strip poker game.
Mr McPherson said: "I was very angry about it at first. I just don't know the reasoning behind it." The picture was on FHM.com - the website of the men's magazine.
On the proposal, Mr McPherson admitted: "Until I've spoken to her to find out if it is a serious proposal, I don't know. If she puts up the argument for the other side I might consider it.''
