Visitors to Mamma Amalfi, in Southend, enjoyed an uplifting carnival atmopshere as the venue became a celebration of Venetian culture.
The event, held at the restaurant in London Road, was timed to co-incide with an annual carnival in Venice. It featured actors in traditional 16th century costume and the sale of watercolour paintings.
Co-ordinator Dr Terrence Bollard, who took part in the fun with staff members Donna Ilett and Joelle Teixeira, said: "We decided to give the money to Essex Air Ambulance because it's such a worthy cause."
