An all-star line up is set to scrum down for a charity rugby match being organised by Brentwood Rugby Club.

Famous faces set to make an appearance when the Brentwood President's XV and Richard Langhorne Trust Ex-International XV include ex-England captain Will Carling, Peter Winterbottom and former Eastender Ross Kemp.

Proceeds from the event on Sunday April 28 will be going to the Richard Langhorne Trust, a charity for disabled children, and Brentwood's Endeavour School is also amongst the beneficiaries.

In recognition of this the Endeavour plans to award Hero of Endeavour status to the Man of the Match.

Heroes of Endeavour already include famous athletes Fatima Whitbread and Frank Bruno and the school is looking forward to adding to the prestigious list.

Endeavour head teacher Peter Pryke said: "We are very grateful to the organisers of this event for thinking about us and we hope it attracts a lot of attention and funds for all the causes they are doing it for."

A full programme of events is being organised to coincide with the match which is due to be staged at King Georges Playing Field.

Anyone wanting to find out more information about how to get involved should call Sally Sykes on 01268 540248.
