Further success for Essex and once again they've been indebted to Harriers' youngsters.
A week after the county won the U/15 team title at the Reebok Inter-Counties, they were at it again at the Inter-Counties Schools Cross Counrty at Banstead. And this time there was gold too for the U/17s Daniel Patten, who didn't compete at Nottingham, finished an impressive seventh in the U/17s and certainly looked fresher than his club-mate Andrew Rolfe.
He had been in action seven days' earlier and for once had to give second-best to Patten. Nonetheless the Essex League champion produced a gutsy run to be 14th.
Bradley Roast, up against many older runners, continues to impress and to be 47th among this field was another promising performance.
Paul Bumstead came home in 42nd position in the U/15 event which didn't include the Livingstone twins.
Reebok winner, Andrew was injured and Paul slightly unwell. Vicki Bangs was 29th among the U/17 girls.
