A 95-year-old woman has something to celebrate after the birth of her first great, great grandchild.
Five generations of her family live in and around the area and they had a get together to celebrate the birth of the youngest member, Ryan.
Ivy Edwards has lived in Riverview, Vange, all of her life and has recently been moved to a residential home, but still in the area.
Her daughter Helen Hoare, 73, visits her mother at Prime Care Nursing Home as often as she can and takes her out at least once a week.
Mrs Hoare said: "I am glad to be part of five generations of the family. We have a small family but we are very close."
Mrs Hoare was also part of a five generation family when her own grandmother was alive.
Mrs Hoare's daughter, Susan, 53, lives in Basildon and her granddaughter, Helen, 28, lives in Grays.
