Police are hunting thieves who cut through a plate-glass shop window and made off with nearly £9,000 of musical goods.
The crooks struck Woolworths store in High Street, Billericay.
Officers believe the large window was removed using a glass cutter and the thieves then entered and stole audio and video tapes, CDs, DVDs, and electrical equipment to the tune of £8,750.
CCTV footage is now being looked at.
