A charity which helps struggling pupils with one-to-one support to help them improve their literacy skills and increase their confidence has appealed for volunteers.
Volunteer Reading Help (VRH), is a national charity that recruits, trains and places volunteers in primary schools to help children with basic reading and writing skills.
VRH is now urgently looking for volunteers in the Southend area who are prepared to give three hours a week for at least a school year. No formal qualifications are needed and training and support is given.
If you can spare the time, telephone VHR on 0207 729 4087.
