The Essex County Indoor Bowling Association finals are taking place at Ilford Indoor Bowling Club on Sunday 7th April.

They start at 9.30 a.m. when the Over 60 Double Fours final will be contested between Barking and the Jacks Centre Latchingdon.

The Jacks, who have won the trophy for the past two seasons and were runners up four years ago, will have their work cut out against their strong opponents.

One of the highlights of the afternoon will be the Champion of Champions Singles between Falcon's Joe Stamper and rising star Steve Mitchinson from the Tye Green club. The game has all the hallmarks of a classic.

The final of the fours competition between Tye Green and Towerlands has been put back due to players being committed to the National Finals at Melton Mowbray which also take place next weekend. It will now be played at the Falcon IBC at 6.30 p.m. on 10th April.

Essex wound up their County friendly programme at Essex County IBC recently with a 116 - 116 draw against Hertfordshire.

The match was on a knife edge throughout and could have gone either way right up to the last bowl. Of the 26 matches played this season the County have won 17, drawn 1 and lost 8

On 12th April the county's bowlers travel to Lincoln on their annual four match tour. They have games against Lincolnshire County Indoor Bowling Association, Stamford Indoor Bowling Association, Lincoln IBC and Boston IBC.
