Aveley all but clinched promotion to Ryman Division Two on Saturday with a 2-1 home win over Chalfont St Peter.
Only Epsom & Ewell can now deny the Essex club from promotion, which will be achieved with a solitary point from their remaining three matches.
Less joy for Witham Town, who slumped to a disappointing 3-0 home reverse against Abingdon Town.
In Division Two, East Thurrock and Great Wakering's title ambitions faded long ago, and Thurrock's end-of-season slump continued on Saturday with a solitary point at Molesey, a side just four off the bottom.
They started in spectacular fashion however with Wayne Tomkin's blockbuster from the edge of the box finding the net after only 16 seconds. The hosts pulled themselves level in injury time though as Mohammad Ait Issa supplied Phil Ruggles who slotted past Chris Marshall.
Great Wakering weren't in action, leaving Wivenhoe Town to complete the Essex involvement in Division Two. They gained a useful point at Hungerford with Paul Haman scoring the visitors' goal in the 11th minute.
