Harlow went down battling at title challengers Aylesbury United, suffering a 1-0 defeat that ends the Essex side's promotion ambitions for another year.
The hosts leapt into life in this tight encounter, taking the lead on 11 minutes as hesitation by Harlow shot-stopper James Hassell allowed Dwain Clarke time and space, and the midfielder duly obliged as he chipped in for the opener.
The Ducks maintained the early pressure and nearly added to their advantage though Enzo Silvestri.
Harlow were a different unit in the second period however, quelling the threat of their Buckinghamshire hosts and coming close to equalising twice with Martin Young looking the most threatening.
In the end though they couldn't find a way through, falling to their 12th league defeat of the campaign and slipping to 6th in the Division One standings.
