Traffic police today appealed for witnesses after an elderly man died from the injuries he suffered in a road smash.
The 88-year-old was in collision with a motorbike in Luncies Road, Basildon, near its junction with Beech Road, at 4.50pm yesterday.
The man - who will not be named by police until all his close relatives have been told - was taken to Basildon Hospital, but died shortly afterwards.
