Police were today trying to find a burglar before he strikes again.
He entered a house in Whitmore Way, Basildon, through an open patio door while the owner - an elderly woman - slept.
Detectives say the burglar crept past her towards a medicine cabinet and the woman awoke to see the man rifling through her possessions.
Det Con Angie Coxon of Basildon CID said: "The woman, who is in her 60s and disabled, was understandably shaken."
