A century from John Stephenson has helped Essex to a four-wicket victory over Durham at Colchester's Castle Park.
The win in the County Championship Division Two keeps Essex in the promotion hunt.
Having been set a target of 321 runs for victory by the visitors, Essex managed to put on 77 for the first wicket.
Essex produced a strong innings with Mark Pettini adding 64 and stand in captain Darren Robinson putting 48 runs on the board.
Earlier Graham Napier was the pick of the Essex bowlers as he took three wickets for 47 leaving Durham with a second innings total of 332.
Durham had made 259 in their first innings with Essex putting 271 on the board in reply.
But it was Stephenson's undefeated 100, only bettered in this match by Michael Gough's knock of 103 for Durham, which saw Essex home.
