Police have praised a quick-thinking man who saved another's life after finding him collapsed in a Southend street.
Keith Piggot, of Burdett Avenue, Westcliff, was travelling down Victoria Avenue at 1.30pm on Friday looking to buy a washing machine when he saw a man lying face down in the road, near the Spread Eagle pub.

Another man beside him was phoning the emergency services but 32-year-old Keith saw the man's face was going blue and knew he had to act quickly.
He said: "I had done a first aid course last year and so I knew what to do and I started to do mouth-to-mouth and chest compressions.
"Afterwards I got a phone call from the divisional commander of Southend police thanking me and telling me the man was going to be all right."
