Basildon Library will become an artistic mecca over the next month as some of the area's top painters display their works.
Seven artists from Basildon Community Resource Centre's Art Group will be exhibiting 47 works at the library over the next month.
Hold on - Jim Groom gets a hand with the paintings from Joan Groom and George Stebbings Picture: MAXINE CLARKE
The exhibition - entitled Reward of Leisure because the artists are purely recreational - runs until Tuesday, December 10.
George Stebbings, tutor of the art group at the Basildon Resource Centre, said: "We are chuffed that the library offered us the space and will be letting us use the gallery next year.
"I just hope they have enough walls to accommodate us."
