A rift has emerged between residents over proposals for a youth centre at Richmond Park, Benfleet.
A public meeting of the Benfleet area forum heard the Legacy charity, attached to St George's Church, want the centre to give young people focus.
A show of hands revealed roughly half the people at the meeting were for the idea - and half against.
