Fire marshals at Colchester Council have been rebriefed on arrangements during the strike.
Gareth Mitchell, Colchester Council communications spokesman, said: "Our existing fire procedures cater fully for the changed emergency arrangements during the firefighters' strike.
"This includes the Army's requirement for a verification call before they attend a fire.
"Our Health and Safety adviser has, however, rebriefed all our fire marshals on the specific arrangements.
"In particular, he has visited each of our sheltered housing schemes."
