An investigation has been launched after a man was crushed to death

The married man, who was in his 40s, was killed in the accident at Mulley's Farm, Bentley Road, Little Bromley.

Farm owner Stanley Roughley went to the man's side and gave first aid, but he could not be saved.

The unnamed victim was delivering grain to the farm for Anglia Grain Services at 12.30pm yesterda

It is understood he was trapped between a forklift truck and a seed-cleaning machine.

Mr Roughley's wife Mary said: "It's just a terrible, terrible accident. We are all terribly upset, and upset for his family. The first thing I knew is when they told me there was an accident and we all rushed round there"

An ambulance crew was called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Nayland-based Anglia Grain Services said: "There has been a tragic accident and it is currently in the hands of Health and Safety."

An investigation will now be held by the Health and Safety Executive and Stanway traffic unit.
