Southend United's second-string registered their third successive victory at Cambridge yesterday afternoon -- extending their unbeaten record to four matches.

The Seasiders cemented all three points at the Abbey Stadium by staging a strong second-half comeback.

And Blues' reserve team boss Steve Tilson praised his side's efforts. "We were 1-0 down at half-time and maybe trying a bit too hard," he said.

"But after the break we took control, scored two very good goals and could have had at least a couple more."

Blues fell behind in first-half injury time when Cambridge forward Lloyd Opara struck from 12 yards after the Seasiders had failed to deal with Owen Paynter's free-kick.

Tilson's men squared things up seven minutes after the break. Trialist West Ham striker Danny Morris sprinted on to Mark Salter's pass and confidently beat U's goalkeeper Martin Brennan.

And the Seasiders grabbed the match winner five minutes later when former Frome Town hitman Salter converted Steven Clark's left-wing centre with a powerful 10-yard header.
