Natalie Deasy, 26, of Canvey, drove to work at the Co-Op, in London Road, Benfleet, and parked her car in the Do It All carpark, at Tarpots.
Mrs Deasy was nearing the end of her shift when she heard her car alarm going off. When she went to investigate she found her blue Ford Escort had been severely vandalised.
She said: "The windows were smashed and the side doors were dented. The car has been written off. They didn't even try and steal anything, it was just kids doing mindless vandalism. They had ripped rubbish bags and strewn contents over the car park as well."
Councillor Dave Wells (Lab, St George's Ward) said: "Tarpots is becoming a no-go area and we should recognise it accordingly. People feel intimidated and that is not fair on traders or residents - we need to find a solution."
