A world champion has packed up his mallets and is on the way back to Colchester.
Robert Fulford has gained his fifth world croquet championship crown in New Zealand.
Colchester-born Fulford regained his title by defeating New Zealand's Toby Garrison 3-1 in the final at Paraparaumu.
Since winning his first world championship in 1990 he has dominated the sport taking the title in 1992, 1994 and 1997.
Fulford has continued to play at his local club since being introduced to croquet while at Colchester Royal Grammar School in the the mid 1980's.
