A new road has been revealed in Colchester. But it is not that new and it will not alleviate any traffic congestion or help to get public transport moving.
The road is about 2,000 years old.
Archaeologists from the Colchester Archaeological Trust have been digging away at the site of the former St Mary's Hospital for months.
But they were not expecting this previously undiscovered road leading off to the right from Balkerne Gate
The newly-discovered road is significant because it links the main town with an extensive temple complex underneath St Helena School and Colchester Institute
If you want to see the road for yourself, along with anything else uncovered, you only have another week.
The Trust has been running free daily guided tours of the site but these finish before Christmas.
If you are interested in taking the guided tour then meet at the gates at 11am. The tour lasts approximately half an hour
