Purfleet gave further evidence of their commitment to winning the championship by last night signing a top scorer from another Ryman Premier Division club.
Tresor Kandol has switched from Chesham, where he has hit seven goals, to give what manager Colin McBride descibes as "another option in attack".
And by that he means a tall, pacy player much in the mold of Cliff Akurang -- who incidentally also came from Chesham -- who could be sidelined for some time because of a hernia.
Kandol has a good background having been a professional with both Luton and Bournemouth. He is, though, not necessarily a starter for the game at Maidenhead tomorrow because of a slight hamstring problem.
In it's own way the match at York Road is every bit as important as last weekend's table-topping clash at Aldershot that saw Fleet suffer a first defeat after five straight victories.
"It's against mid-table teams like Maidenhead that we have slipped in the past," said boss Colin McBride.
