A scout group who sang Christmas carols in the street has raised more than £200 to buy presents for elderly residents.
The fifth Wickford group wrapped up warm and sang their hearts out in Wickford High Street.
Kind shoppers donated £106 and this was bumped up by another £100 by the Wickford Rotary Club.
Group leader Mick Ridgeway said: "We decided to raise money for the residents of the Chaplin Lodge care home and we would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially the Rotary."
The money raised will be spent on Christmas presents.
The troop meets every Wednesday from 7pm at the Nevendon Playschool hall in Nevendon Road. Anyone interested in joining the scouts, cubs or beavers can call Mick on 01268 755837.
