Essex has been leading the way in showing the rest of the country how to run adoption services.
A special open day has been held in Chelmsford for adoption groups to find out how Essex has improved the way it helps children and families looking to adopt.
The county's service was awarded beacon status this year.
Iris Pummell, the county council's portfolio holder for children's services and schools, said: "This open day gave us the chance to learn from others, as well as share what has worked for us."
