Title challengers Harlow put themselves back in the promotion picture on Saturday with a 2-0 home win over Essex rivals Great Wakering Rovers.

New man Matt Harrold's double in the second half maintains 3rd spot for the pre-season tips, with Wealdstone, Northwood and Hornchurch also recording victories on Saturday.

East Thurrock United and Wivenhoe Town played out a gripping all-Essex derby to take a share of the spoils in a 3-3 draw. Darren Bethell gave Wivenhoe the lead on 29 minutes, only for the hosts to turn the match on its head by half-time as Steve Harrison equalised, and Mark Barry made it 2-1 with a 30-yard screamer.

Bethell then recorded his second of the game to tie the match, and a rare away win for Town looked on the cards when Ben Fuller put them in front with just four minutes left to play.

County pride was shared however when, a minute later Barry hit his second and Wakering's equaliser for a final score of 3-3.

The other tie saw Steve Dickinson's late penalty for Aveley rescue a point at home to Hemel Hempstead who had led through John Lawford's goal. Aveley sit just below mid-table in their first year in Ryman Division One North.
