The egg and spoon race is difficult - but just try it underwater!
That's what five swimmers did and raised an estimated £600 for St Luke's Hospice, Basildon.
They were Martin Maher, Martin O'Keefe, Mick Fleet, Paul Holcombe and Adam Scofield.
They made their effort at the pool in Corringham Leisure Centre.
And nothing could put them off their stroke as they are all members of the Fobbing-based Adventures in Scuba Club.
While they were doing their laps, club colleagues were providing a safety back-up and counting the circuits completed by each man.
For the record, club instructor Martin O'Keefe came top with 30 laps.
