If you meet a grey parrot who wishes you merry Christmas, keep him talking while you call pub landlord Barry Sinclair.
You could be £300 richer.
Barry and his wife Irene, landlords of the Town Crier in South Woodham Ferrers, lost their African grey parrot Gonzo as beer was being delivered to their cellar on Friday.
Gonzo, grey with a red tail, normally flies freely within their home next door to the pub, only returning to his cage at night.
But last Friday Gonzo followed Barry into the cellar where he was frightened by the noise of a compressor and made a beeline for the open door.
Barry and Irene haven't seen two-year-old Gonzo since - and they haven't a clue which direction he took.
"He's either made off or he is in hiding somewhere, nervous and frightened," said Barry.
If you have any information on Gonzo's whereabouts, phone Barry and Irene on 01245 329774.
