Teacher Jen Davies won applause from pupils as she collected a top award from supermarket Asda.
Shoppers at the Tilbury store were asked to nominate their favourite teacher with the one receiving most votes collecting a goody bag.

Tracy Dixon and Donna Gridley, events managers at Asda, arrived at Tilbury Manor Junior School to surprise the winner.
They presented Jen with her prizes in front of the whole Dickens Avenue school.
Tracy and Donna were concerned that after arranging the surprise presentation, Mrs Davies would not be there.
"She was ill, but in true top-teacher fashion she still came in," said Tracy.
