When the Essex apparatus finals were held at Colchester, six gymnasts from Wickford based Carousel Club qualified at various levels.
At Level Three, Wickford's Dawn Scholey became champion, winning gold for her dynamic vault and also taking first place on the floor.

Another Wickford girl, Chloe Morton took the gold on the floor at Level Four and added a silver on beam and bronze on vault.
Felicity Clarke, from Rayleigh, missed out on gold for her bars routine but, as well as taking silver here, collected a bronze on beam.
Jessica Downes completed the club's medal success, winning the bronze on floor.
Dana Boyle was also competing in this section, taking fourth on vault. In the FIG section Charlie Atkins was fourth on beam and floor.
