A blunder which saw Essex County Council's private security arragements posted on the web was today magnified as it was revealed the Queen may visit one location featured within weeks.

Yesterday, the it was revealed that sensitive information about CCTV cameras, intruder alarms and security patrols had been published on the Essex County Council's website by accident

One of the buildings where security arrangements were made public on the site - County Hall in Chelmsford - is likely to be visited by the Queen later this month.

She is due to visit Chelmsford on Friday, January 31, to attend a service at the cathedral to mark the 50th anniversary of the east coast floods of 1953.

It is believed she will also go to County Hall.

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said the Queen was looking forward to the visit but declined to comment on security issues.

Royal security staff will assess the safety of the county town for the monarch within the next few weeks.

Delicate information detailing security arrangements was removed from the council website after the Evening Gazette brought it to the council's attention.

A spokesman for the council said: "A tender document for security services at County Hall was placed on the internet.

"We do not believe that this information represented in any form a breach of security but, on balance, we have decided to remove the information."
